Vordtriede-Patton holds a Ph.D. in Biology from St. Louis University and an Education Specialist degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. In over two decades on faculty, she taught in adjunct roles at McKendree Univesity, as a full-time instructor at UMKC, and through the ranks to tenured full professor at St. Ambrose University. She’s worked for more than a decade in administration roles ranging from Department Chair, Associate Dean, Interim Dean, Dean, and now Provost & VPAA. Vordtriede-Patton was Board certified in General Entomology and Medical & Veterinary Entomology and served for 8 years in the US Army Reserve as a Medical Entomologist attaining the rank of Captain. She currently is a trained peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission.
